This poster promotes Himlaspelet in Leksand, Sweden, advertising a 20-year anniversary run (“Tjugoårsjubileum”) held 15–24 July 1960. Himlaspelet – Ett spel om en wäg som till Himla bär is a well-known Swedish “bygdespel” (community folk play) written by Rune Lindström, first premiered in Leksand on 3 August 1941 and later became a recurring summer tradition in the area. The story is built around rural Dalarna faith/worldview and follows Mats Ersson’s journey “toward Heaven” after a personal tragedy, using biblical encounters and moral questions as the backbone of the drama.
