Such posters were produced to build the zoo\u2019s public identity and to popularise interest in animals and natural history.<br \/>\nTallinna Loomaaed was founded in 1939 and is one of the oldest zoos in the Baltic region. Its beginnings are closely linked to Estonia\u2019s marksmen, who brought back a young lynx named Illu from the 1937 world championships in Helsinki; the animal became the zoo\u2019s first emblem and helped inspire its creation. During the Soviet period the zoo continued to grow despite limited conditions, and in the 1980s it moved to its present large site in Veskimets. Today it is known both for its long history and for its role in wildlife conservation, education and breeding programmes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"79\"><strong>Condition &amp; Important Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1084\" data-end=\"1228\">As an original vintage poster, expect some age-related signs: slight fading, fold lines or minor creases, edge wear.
