What is Kapsel?
Kapsel is a poster shop opened in Tallinn in the summer of 2025, specializing in original prints, posters, and graphic works mainly from the twentieth century. Our mission is to offer customers high-quality and affordable prints that bring harmony between history and aesthetics into interior spaces — each print carries a unique story. Kapsel began from Aleksander’s personal interest in vintage posters. While studying in Gothenburg, Sweden, his dorm room felt rather bleak, with white walls and a linoleum floor. To bring more life into the room, he started searching for posters in various online stores, but browsing through them made him lose any clear vision or emotional connection to what he actually wanted to hang on the wall. Gradually, he began to feel that the paper on the wall should have had a function, a purpose, and a story. One thing led to another, and soon he owned so many posters that most of them no longer fit on the wall. Now, back in Tallinn, he felt a strong desire to share all these remarkable posters and prints with others.

Why original posters?
Old posters give the room a totally different feeling and vibe than new, mass-printed posters you see every day in Instagram ads or on every third friend’s wall. Since these posters were originally printed for specific purposes — exhibitions, films, concerts, or campaigns — they were never meant to flood the market. While more copies may have existed once, most have long disappeared. In my shop, I usually have only one of each design, which makes every piece truly unique. It’s highly unlikely you’ll come across the same poster anywhere else. Each one has survived time and circumstance — and now you get the chance to give it a new life.
Prints
At the moment, the prints in our collection can be viewed in our online store and on Instagram. Please note that what you see on Instagram and in the online shop represents only a part of all the available works, so feel free to get in touch if you are looking for something specific. Our current selection mainly consists of posters from the Estonian SSR period as well as Swedish posters from different eras. A significant portion also includes posters from countries around the world. The main poster categories are exhibition posters, movie posters, music posters, event posters, theatre posters, travel posters, photo posters, art posters / reproductions, automotive posters and sports posters.

Full service
We offer everything you need to get your print ready to hang on your wall. That means a wide selection of wall art, standard-size frames, and—if you wish—a framing service through one of our partners. We do our best to make sure your chosen piece doesn’t end up rolled up in a corner collecting dust, but instead finds its place on your wall for everyone to admire.

How to buy?
Add the desired products to your cart and place your order. If you cannot find exactly the right poster in the online store, feel free to send us a message — we have plenty more posters in stock.
Shipping
Posters purchased from our online shop are shipped within Estonia via Omniva parcel machine. To Latvia and Lithuania, we send posters by courier. If you’d like your poster delivered to another country, please email us, and we’ll figure out the best solution together. All posters are carefully packed in sturdy cardboard poster tubes.
FAQ
Where are the posters from?
The posters in our shop come from a wide variety of sources. We often buy them from auctions in Estonia and abroad, antique shops, private collectors, private persons, poster stores overseas, as well as flea markets and fairs, among others.
Do you restore posters?
No, not yet.
Do you buy old posters?
Definitely! Just shoot us an email!
Do you offer a framing service?
We sell frames in various standard sizes – 21×30, 30×40, 40×50, 50×70, and 70×100 cm. Many prints, however, come in non-standard sizes. For those, we have a framing partner who can frame your artwork at a very reasonable price.
Are the prints one-of-a-kind pieces?
The prints we sell are most likely not one-of-a-kind, since they are, after all, printed works. However, the chances of seeing the same poster on someone else’s wall are very small, as only a limited number have survived. For most posters in our collection, we have only one copy available.
