Description

Set in 1940 in a small Soviet town, the story follows 9th-grade student Iskra Polyakova, an idealistic Komsomol member whose father is suddenly labelled an enemy of the people. As the tensions of the time mount and her world shatters, she and her classmates must confront betrayal, ideological pressure, and the looming war.
The film explores youthful idealism, moral awakening, and the brutal reality of Stalinist repression just before the outbreak of full-scale war.
