Description:

The story is set in 15th-century France. A young Scottish nobleman, Quentin Durward, joins the King’s Royal Guard and is given a difficult mission — one that turns out to be far more treacherous than it seems. He becomes embroiled in political intrigue, must save his own life and the life of a countess, and faces deception and danger as he strives to fulfil his duty with honour.
