The 1980 Olympic Sailing Regatta in Tallinn sparked a transformative urban and architectural boom: iconic projects like the Pirita Yachting Centre, TV Tower, Hotel Olümpia, Linnahall, and a modern airport terminal reshaped the city.
The event itself was boycotted by most of the nations resulting in a competition of six boat classes and 83 yachts from 23 nations.
