Description:

This Tallinna Loomaaed poster was issued in 1968 as part of the zoo’s public promotion print series. Such posters were produced to build the zoo’s public identity and to popularise interest in animals and natural history.
Tallinna Loomaaed was founded in 1939 and is one of the oldest zoos in the Baltic region. Its beginnings are closely linked to Estonia’s marksmen, who brought back a young lynx named Illu from the 1937 world championships in Helsinki; the animal became the zoo’s first emblem and helped inspire its creation. During the Soviet period the zoo continued to grow despite limited conditions, and in the 1980s it moved to its present large site in Veskimets. Today it is known both for its long history and for its role in wildlife conservation, education and breeding programmes.

Condition & Important Notes

As an original vintage poster, expect some age-related signs: slight fading, fold lines or minor creases, edge wear. Please inspect carefully.
